Grade 8 Animal Farm Essay Due: Monday, February 9
Directions: Choose one of the following essay topics to write about. The essay should be at least five paragraphs with an introduction, thesis statement, supporting body paragraphs with topic sentences, and a conclusion.
1) Snowball’s original idea of having an equal farm community went wrong. The thought of having a perfectly equal community where everyone had a part seemed like an excellent plan, but it did not turn out the way it was expected to. Describe three of the things that went wrong in the Animal
Farm community that led to its demise.
2)Compare Manor Farm at the beginning of the story with Manor Farm in the last chapter. Describe changes that have taken place and what things have remained the same?
3) The pigs in Animal Farm went from brilliant leaders to tyrants throughout the course of the novel. Describe three ways in which the pigs’ ruling, especially Napoleon's, affected the farm’s animals and its business.

Pick up a great magazine, comic you love, your favorite book, or something new and exciting. You could even read some great books for free online! There are a lot of interesting characters out there; some that are just like you. Keep up the great reading.
